Rainwear with flash
By Susan Flinker
Daily News, New York City, November 18, 1984
On the rainwear front, flashy prints and fluorescent colors are turning up on everything from umbrellas to waterproof boots. And why not? Graffiti-style graphics and neon brights are news in fashion, home decorating, even cosmetics. Just one example is shown here, a spray-painted (by hand) industrial plastic graffiti artwear ensemble by the underground New York fashion team of Annie Watson and Erni Vales. When it’s chilly outdoors, it’s great for making the scene at a club. Each piece is $80, at the Caribbean Cultural Center, 408 W 58th St. Model is Jennifer Rooney of Wilhelmina.
